Participants will arrive by 6:00 PM Sunday for the Welcome Supper, an informal dinner with introductions and delicious food prepared by Atlantic Center’s infamous Chef Tom. An after-dinner tour of Atlantic Center for the Arts (ACA) and its facilities will follow, before the real fun and hard work begins on Monday. A typical conference day will involve morning group sessions, followed by lunch and afternoon studio time. Craft discussions will be led on Monday and Tuesday afternoon. During the week there will be a chance for participants to arrange one individual conference with any of the teaching faculty, and/or with Jill Bialosky (see below).

Special activities, including a cocktail party, offsite excursion to the New Smyrna Beach’s legendary JB’s Fish Camp, and an open mic event, will augment the week of intense writing among your peers. A morning yoga class may be offered in the ACA Dance Studio to interested participants. Departure on Saturday can be scheduled after breakfast or lunch.

PRIVATE CONSULTATIONS

We also offer individual sessions with faculty members—this is a chance to go deeper with the teacher you are working with or to get further insight and expertise from one of the other teachers. In addition, Jill Bialosky will be offering private manuscript consultations. These 30-minute conferences are available at an additional cost of $125. You may sign up in advance or once on site. A limited number of sessions are available.
